Do you cover my insurance?

Comfort Medical is contracted with traditional Medicare, Medicare Advantage, and Medicaid. We are also in-network with most commercial plans and cover around 80% of U.S. covered lives. To verify if we are in-network with your insurance plan call us at 1-800-700-4246.

Another provider told me that my preferred brand is not covered - is that true?

It is important to know that insurance companies do not dictate which brand of supplies you receive. At Comfort Medical, we will dispense the supplies you and your clinician determined would work best for you.

I am covered under Traditional Medicare. Do I have to pay anything for my supplies?

Medicare covers 80% of the cost, so you are responsible for the remaining 20%.

Do I have to submit my claim to my insurance?

No, we take care of that for you! We bill your insurance directly and handle all the paperwork for you.

How many catheters per month/day are covered by my insurance?

Medicare and some other plans cover up to 200 catheters per month for each type (straight tip, coudé tip, closed system, hydrophilic, or non-hydrophilic). Other insurance plans may allow different amounts, so it’s important to check your plan’s specific limits.
The maximum number is meant to cover people who need the highest amount of supplies. Most people won’t need that many. Your doctor will decide how many are right for you based on your health needs, and they’ll document this in your medical record

What if I need more catheters than my insurance allows?

If you need more supplies your doctor will need to provide a letter explaining the need for the additional catheters. Comfort Medical will submit a request for additional catheters directly to your insurance.

How many ostomy products per month/day are covered by medicare?

Medicare covers items that are thought to be medically necessary. Medicare quantity allowables for ostomy supplies varies based on product features.
If you have questions about the coverage of your preferred ostomy product, please call 1-800-700-4246 to speak to one of our specialists.
